megaETH vs Monad scale: megaETH, because it uses a centralized block production, can go faster. Likely much much faster. Monad, because it uses a distributed block production system, has the potential to enable faster censorship resistance and faster prices with MCP. megaETH will be more difficult to verify because the throughput is higher. Proving the chain will be expensive and slow. Monad will be easier to verify because the full node requirements are lower. Running a proposer/validator will also be permissionless. Personally I don't think it really matters very much. The demand side of the blockspace is key to a sustainable supply side in either model. One advantage of megaETH over Monad on this side is that the centralized sequencer does not need to be incentivized with staking rewards, which are traditionally a very large expense to L1s.
