the broader phenomenon here is something I've come to think of as the "YC-ification" of crypto I'd say now *most* crypto founders, including the perceived successful ones, are running the YC playbook with crypto, but it's not really crypto--more like crypto-fintechs. . . maybe this was inevitable but it feels very cookie-cutter and more 'disruptive' than 'revolutionary'

the modern era startup founders balance is: 1) have enough balls to "just do things" because people forget after 12 months and we're all gonna die anyway so you might as well take risks while 2) not becoming a full blown grifter in the process to max extract, and then conflates luck with hard work
