I always do a blind taste test at family gatherings. This year it was the 30-year strong family refined apple crisp recipe vs the best work from Gemini.

The "Best" Maple & Brown Sugar Apple Crisp
(8x8 Glass Pan Edition)
* Prep time: 15 mins
* Bake time: 40–50 mins
* Temp: 350°F (175°C)
Ingredients
The Filling (Maple Infused):
* Apples: 5 medium apples (approx. 4–5 cups). Ideally a mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp. Peel, core, and slice (¼ inch) or cube them.
* Liquid Sweetener: ¼ cup Maple Syrup.
* Solid Sweetener: 2 tbsp Brown Sugar (for depth).
* Thickener: 2 ½ tbsp All-Purpose Flour (Increased quantity to thicken the syrup).
* Acid/Spice: 1 tsp Lemon Juice + ½ tsp Cinnamon.
The "Cookie" Crisp Topping:
* Oats: ¾ cup Quaker Old Fashioned Oats (Not Quick Oats).
* Flour: ¾ cup All-Purpose Flour.
* Sugar: ¾ cup Brown Sugar, packed.
* Butter: 1 Stick (8 tbsp) Unsalted Butter, cold and cut into small cubes.
* The Lift: ¼ tsp Baking Powder (makes it crisp, not dense).
* Spice: ½ tsp Cinnamon + Pinch of Salt.
