The mistake I've made a few times is having the poverty mindset of trying to farm the thing I'm bullish on, rather than just buying the thing Number go up of the good thing is almost always better than hoping you get a random amount of the good thing at some unknown future date

most recent example of me doing dumb things is spending far too much time trying to farm niche projects on the HyperEVM. In the end i'll likely end up losing a bunch of Hype doing dumb stuff and the eco airdrops probably won't outperform just holding the main thing.
